The creative fabric of the city of Madrid is nourished by various agents that traditionally integrate it from formal, academic or institutional spheres, as well as the independent from formal, academic or institutional spheres, as well as the independent spaces of contemporary creation which, for several decades now, have been incorporating the activity of different agents and professionals into the city as an element of inclusion and support for creation. The activity of the different agents and professionals in the city as an element of inclusion and support for creation.
Over the last decade there has been an enormous increase in the appearance, constitution and setting up of such spaces in the city. and implementation of such spaces in Madrid. For reasons that we propose to analyse in this public forum, many of them were constituted as a platform at the end of 2021 with the dual aim of highlighting their projects and creating a joint voice in the dialogue with public institutions and administrations.
The Plataforma de Espacios Independientes de Creación Contemporánea organised a first meeting that took place on 28, 29 and 30 June 2022 in the auditorium of the Comunidad de Madrid in Alcalá 31, based on several working groups made up of representatives from different spaces.
